      Hey Love,

This was on the newcomers list and I didn't know if it had some suggestions that might help you or not. Didn't think it would hurt to forward it privately to you tho. :) Hope it is of some help.

      M'Lord,

Happy to help out a fellow chronicler. While nothing beats having folks from
within your shire your wrtiting the articles for the newsletter, there are a
couple of really good resources for articles/ ideas......

First thing you might want to do is talk to your fellow officers, and see
what they might want to see included in an upcoming edition- you might even
crank an article of em :-)

First stop is probably scatoday.net- news from all over the Known World
there-they also do a pretty good job of scanning Mundane media for Known
World related stuff. I use it a lot, am beginning to even send them stuff,
and I run the newsfeed on our shire's online newsletter. It's pretty open
source, and very easy to use.

Another good idea is to sign up for announces from Society HQ. Anytime
there's a change or an announcement from the Society, you'll get it in your
box.You can do that at the SCA hompage.

There also should be a newsgroup for the chroniclers in your kingdom, which
is always good for pooling info and brain storming.

And never underestimate the power of a good Google search.

Just remember if you use a full article, artwork, or pictures taken from an
outside source, make sure you get permission from the author / copyright
holders. Usually folks are pretty willing to share so long as you properly
      credit it.

I'm currently developing/ writing a weekly column for newcomers called FROM
SOMEWHERE IN THE KNOWN WORLD (which will hopefully expand to include stuff
by other folks) from Battered Blade Online. It's sort of a "lighter side" of
joining the SCA thing. Once I get a few more installemnts in, I'm playing
around with the idea of syndicating the thing to any SCA pub who might want
to run one of the weekly cols in thier newsletter.

I'd actually love to help set up some sort of sydication network-kinda like
an AP wire for Chroniclers under deadline, where if you need something in a
pinch- the material would be there in one place, and you wouldn't have to
chase around for permissions because they'd already be there, ready to use.

If there's anything else you might need, feel free to buzz me.

      In Service,
Alric/jmt (the byname is coming. we swear. really...)

Does anyone know of a good site online where I can find articles to
use for my shires newsletter? Or does anyone here have any that they
wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks for your help.
