<<< I am not the most organized of people so though I have paired down
the class schedule to things I would like to take I probably won't
know till I am there what I will be able to take. We'll see. >>>
Also, be aware that between the deadline for publishing the class
schedule in the Pennsic booklet and the time of Pennsic, things will
change. Now that there's also the online class schedule this perhaps
less of a problem, but only if you check the online schedule before
Classes that get dropped, and more particularly, classes that get
added are posted on a board at the class registration tent. This also
applies to classes that have had their published location change or
their day or time changed.
Which is one reason I often have secondary class choices on my
personal schedule, just in case the one I wanted to take has been
dropped or changed, the class is too full, or the teacher just doesn't
If the teacher doesn't show up, and it has happened for various
reasons, I have often had nice conversations with the other people
also waiting in the tent for the class. The food court area is also
near some of the class tents, and if the teacher doesn't show up,
sometimes it is good to swing by there for something to eat or drink.
There are vending machines at several places around Cooper's Lake, as
well as several merchants selling drinks, but it is wisest to bring
along a bottle of water or a canteen if you can, especially if you
camp is far away.
During the very hottest Pennsics, they've also tried to get igloos of
water to some of the class tents.
There is also often a "misting" setup near the Chirugeons' building.
There are also the "Classic" and "Family" Swimming Holes, but they are
on the far side of the lake, on the opposite side of Pennsic from most
of the activities. You don't want to actually swim in Cooper's Lake.
Something about leeches. :-( Very period, but not something you
probably want to deal with.
who wishes *he* was going this year.
