Subject: Striking coins for the Reign of Morgan II and Lusche II at Lupercalia, March 2

The members of the Moneyers Guild and the populace of Northshield are invited to help take part in creating the coins for Morgan II and Lusche II at Lupercalia on March 2nd.

The coinage for this reign is going to be rather different. Instead of one coin, their Highnesses have requested three types of coins, representing early, middle and late period coinage. In addition they want coins to have the AS year and the NS year (Since the founding of Northshield).

The coins will be delivered at three events, Early period at Coronation, Middle period at Crown and Late period in time for Pennsic.

Anyone that is interested in helping strike coins, cutting a die or just learning more about the coining process is welcome.  This will not be an formal workshop but various people will be working on coin related stuff through out the day.  Depending on which dies have been cut and which coin blanks are ready we may only do part of the coinage on this day.

      Their Highnesses original request:
We are thinking for our Coronation to have a coin that is based on an early period design, this is where we would ask you guys to do something you would like to do.  We are thinking that the markings for that coin could be AS 47 FN IX (if my AS date is correct) signifyingthe 47th year of the Society and the 9th since the founding of Northshield

For the second coin at Crown we are thinking to have a middle period coin, again design and origin be up to you guys, with the following markings AS 48 FN IX as May 1st will have passed and the SCA will be a year older.

For the Third we are thinking of it being for Pennsic and it being a later period coin with the following markings AS 48 FN X ( a bit of a fudge as the 29th reign of Northshield will begin on our Heirs coronation but we are ok with this :)
Again we would ask that the design be something you guys would enjoy doing.
