      If the thing you are looking at is a circular sort of thing, kreel
      like in nature, it is a tsuramaki. It is most likely a rattan type
      basketwork piece that is basically a framework to hold a spare bow
      string. There are several types - some lacquered leather...others
      basketwork. They all serve the same function.
