In the book "Momoyama: Japanese Art in the Age of Grandeur", published
in 1975 by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and now available online as
a free, downloadable PDF at -

there is a section on painted screens known as "shokunin zukushi"
that are a series of screens showing various plying their trades in
      their city shops.

Does anyone know of a good reference to this genre, or maybe a book
that studies a single set of these screens in detail? Some of these
sets had upwards of four-dozen panels.
