      Noble Cousin!

Greetings from Solveig! The archeological find is of course spiffy. The replay of the "divine wind" trope rather less so. There is a rather interesting study about the Mongol Invasion called "In Little Need of DIvine Intervention" which shows that Japanese defenses were actually rather formidable. Also, as hinted at in the text about the ships in question, the Mongols were not necessarily well prepared to actually fight in Japan which has rather little steppe in which to engage in fancy cavalry attacks.
