Born in Yokosuka City, Japan, Shoko KAZAMA has always been fascinated
by her natural surroundings and wisdom of Zen teachings. Shoko KAZAMA
studied calligraphy and soon the symphony of brushes, Japanese paper
and Chinese ink became her passion. The works of Shoko KAZAMA capture
the vast realm of real or abstract universe, or somewhere in between
as depicted by her works, Kaze (wind) and Na.mu.a.mi.da.butsu (a
Sanskrit prayer chant). Shoko KAZAMA enjoys teaching to young Buddhist
priests as well as other adults. She is the distinguished official
calligrapher of the renowned Zen sect, the Kencho Ji sect, with its
      high temple in Kamakura, Japan.
