Re: [SCA-JML] Re: Japanese A&S
- Very wise words indeed. It takes much patience for that kind of plan, but, I think, the effect might last longer.
Any good Samurai want to move up here and participate in Crown Tourney?

As strange as it may seem coming from a bushi who has participated in
the SCA for over 20 years, I don't think that we should. I empathize
with those who wish to make the SCA more Eurocentric. I am keenly
aware of my presence in the SCA as one best characterized as
'unwelcome guest.' And I think that is how it should be. For now.
My hope is that we can coeexist within the SCA long enough to build a
large enough community that we can 'revolt' and exist as a coherent
sub-group independent of the SCA as a whole. Fight with the same
rules. Meet SCA armour standards. Participate in inter-Kingdom events.
But to be able to hold Asiatic-centric events in which the mix is
primarily Japanese, Chinese, and Koreans. Can you imagine a yearly
event in which the Japanese and Chinese square of against SCAish
mongols? In which Japanese units can fight each other exclusively? I can.
Unconventional thoughts, I know. But hopefully not offensive.
Big words from one lone samurai in the mountains of the Outlands.
