Group Description

The Suncoast Amateur Radio Club (SARC) is located in New Port Richey, Florida, next county (Pasco) north of Tampa on the Florida west coast.

SARC is devoted to the advancement of ham radio, support local emergency management organizations such as Emergency Management, RACES and ARES, aid and encourage others to become hams and provide its community with an education of what ham radio can provide.

The 23nd Pasco Co HamFest sponsored by the Suncoast ARC is Saturday, Sept 27th, 2014, 0800-1300 hr (8AM - 1PM), at the Gunn Hwy Flea Market at the intersection of SR54 & Gunn Hwy. Admission is $5, XYLs and under 12 FREE, tail gatoring spaces $1 (size don't matter) and must have admission ticket to enter. At the Flea Market the XYLs and Hams too can browse the Gunn Hwy Flea Market (FREE admission) if they like. The HamFest will be outside in its own area. Hope to see you there.

The SARC meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the New Port Richey Library in downtown New Port Richey (from US19, east on Main St and library is on left. All are welcome, ham, member or not.

SARC host the 145.35(-) repeater DSTAR/analog hybrid repeater. If user has 146.2 Hz CTCSS tone the repeater operates in analog, but if no tone operates in DSTAR (you have to have DSTAR rig to operate DSTAR). The repeater is located at the west Pasco Government Center on Little Road. The repeater is the SkyWarn backup repeater. All are welcome.
