Group Description

Roads should be responsive to the communities they serve and should not be dictated by the pro-growth lobby. Four-lane roads encourage speeding and imprudent driving and are often inappropriate for use as neighborhood connectors.



We invite residents of Orange and Durham counties to resist unreasonable four-lane projects such as Weaver Dairy Road, South Columbia Street, Estes Drive, Smith Level Road, Homestead Road, and Eno Drive, among others.



Send us your e-mail address and/or phone number and we'll let you know when road projects need your attention. Often, all we'll need is a letter to a town governing body, the NCDOT, or perhaps a letter to the editor of a newspaper. Sometimes we may need more active involvement with research and lobbying, but without help from you, community road design will be decided by the NCDOT and development interests. We have no budget and ask for no money, but your attention can make a difference.
