      SQL Server Professionals,

Don't forget the user group meeting this Thursday February 17th.

Please join us for pizza and networking starting at 6:00 followed by our
      presentation at 6:30.
Ted Tasker from Microsoft will present:
Big Data, Fast BI, and Low Cost of Ownership.
Microsoft PDW and Distributed Data Warehouse Architecture.

      Session Abstract:

As businesses today continue to process extremely large volumes of data, the
need to keep data warehousing costs under control while ensuring superior
business intelligence (BI) performance has never been greater. Enter
Microsofts Parallel Data Warehouse (PDW), an appliance-based architecture
that enables predictable performance and massive workload scalability at a
      significantly lower cost of ownership.

Learn how PDW has been architected to scale to 100s of terabytes by
distributing data and query load across multiple servers built on commodity
HW and SQL Server. PDW is designed to work in a distributed data warehouse
architecture with features like Remote Database Copy for fast data transfers
      to downstream data marts.

PDW allows you to leverage your existing SQL Server skillset and your
current BI SW investment but take your data capacity capabilities and query
      performance to the next level.

      Speaker Bio:

Ted Tasker joined Microsoft in 2008 as a SQL Technology Solution
Professional and is now focused on SQL Parallel Data Warehouse. Ted has
