Group Description

This group is dedicated to keeping South Australian mushers up to date. You will find event details, entry forms, results and topical information. With 4 clubs now offering sled dog events in the state this forum is an independent location for anyone interested in mushing to keep in contact with current sledding activities. It is not sponsored, managed or moderated by any of the clubs.

These events are open to all breeds of dogs. The most common breeds involved in the sport are the traditional sled dogs (snowdogs). Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Samoyed and Alaskan Husky owners make up the bulk of our competitors but we have representatives from a wide range of breeds involved. Any active medium to large dog that likes to run can compete. All the events include novice classes for those interested in trying out, the clubs will be most happy to see you and provide loan equipment. If you want to come out to an event it is worth contacted one of the clubs and confirming times and location, this will also give the clubs an opportunity to arrange any loan equipment you might need.

Note: After your first posting has been verified this is an unmoderated group which means you are free to post to the group. Feel free to share your thoughts and ideas about training, feeding, racing, mushing and dogs in general.
