      hi sakurans!

      total:   11-29
      day 1: 1-7
      day 2: 3-5
      day 3: 2-6
      day 4: 3-5
      day 5: 2-6

good news, we were +1 in technique today. also, i went gbl, won, and had the 4th best lineup of the day. also, also, Daifuku put in a squad, went perfect, and won!

      thus endeth the good news.

we were close to having a good day, really close. but noooooootttttttttt quite. things started out slowly, we lost our first two, and then Daifuku won his first of the basho, but beat Chibi_IMO to do it. then i won my bout, and we were 2-3 and +1 in the technique area. the last 3 matches all went to the bench, so things could have gone quite well. instead, all of the sakurans in bench matches were quickly dispatched, with sekihiryu and andonishiki going down on the first slot, and Saruyama lasting until the 2nd bench before he was defeated.

so our basho of woes continues. but hey, we can still turn this thing around. let's see if we can't go 6-2 on day 6. or how's about at least 4-4? :)

      anyway, today sekihiryu quoted:
Last night, Darth Vader came down from Planet Vulcan and told me
that if I didn't take Lorraine out, that he'd melt my brain.
and today chabo knows! it's Back to the Future. i've seen that one lots of times, or, have seen parts of it lots of times. i don't usually have the patience to sit through a movie on the television.

and then as for the sakuran of the day? i'm going to go with me. i do so like a perfect gbl. :)

i thought about doing a check of sakura in the mcp, but now that i really think about it, i might not. we'll leave that for another day.

here's your sakura bout by bout:

      Bout 3 - Sarunojima (sd15E) 10 [0-5] loss Akokoneko (sd12W) 11 [3-2]
      Bout 5 - Achiyama (sd8E) 14 [4-1]   loss kamogawa (sd9W) 12 [0-5]

        hi sakurans!

first, our day by day totals: (this isn't pretty)

        day1 - 2-5
        day2 - 3-4
        day3 - 3-4
        day4 - 2-5
        day5 - 2-5
        total  - 12-23 (yipe)

so today was another tough day for wins and losses. but, if there's any kind of a bright side to our early struggles with wins and losses, it's that we, as an ichimon, are getting kind of unlucky. our total MCP is up around 16, while we only have 12 wins. for instance, i'm #3 overall in MCP, but am only 2-3. unfair! but that's how it goes. :) (ok, i just really wanted to point out that i'm #3 in MCP currently. like the stinker that i am.)

in other good news, i made my first sumo forum post in a couple of years. it was about the way Harumafuji acted toward Takayasu after their match. seemed un-yokozuna-like, to me.

what other bright spots? kamogawa and Saruyama are both 3-2, so there's that. :)

        today sekihiryu said:
“Remember, Sully, when I promised to kill you last? ….I lied.”
today chabo isn't sure, but i'm hearing it in arnold's voice. so i go to look it up. hey, i'm right! and that movie did come to mind.

well, i have to put in my team for today, and go do some parenting. so here's the bout-by-bout:

        Bout 3 - Daifuku (ms22W) 6 [1-4] loss Hidariashiyama (ms18W) 9 [4-1]
        Bout 4 - kamogawa (ms18E) 10 [3-2] Win! Maeden (ms21W) 7 [2-3]
        out 13 - Sherlockiama (ms3E) 11 [3-2] loss chabonowaka (ms8W) 11 [2-3]
Sherlockiama wins on the first bench rikishi.
        Bout 21 - Yassier (J13W) 9 [2-3] loss sekihiryu (J9W) 9 [1-4]
Yassier wins on the third bench rikishi.
        Bout 25 - Rubensan (J4E) 10 [1-4] loss and Win! Saruyama (J5E) 11 [3-2]
        Bout 32 - Itachi (M14E) 12 [2-3] loss andonishiki (M16E) 9 [1-4]

go sakura!!!!!!!! (let's have a winning record on day 6, shall we?)
