well, it was another very even day for the sakurans today. 4 wins, 4 losses, and no kk's or mk's. we've really settled into mediocrity since our first good day on day 6. before then we were 11-29 and since we are 26-22. i'd still like to see us put together a few good win days, like maybe string a couple of 6-2s together, see if we can't make the basho total look a little better, but hey, one day at a time.
really, today we started out pretty well, winning 3 of our first 4. but then i started our slide with my loss on the bench. i had looked at a number of changes to my lineup, and a couple of them would have changed the outcome. oh well, such is the way of things. that drops me to 6-5, wehre i am joined by the winning andonishiki. Saruyama and Daifuku are both at 5-6, so that group of 4 are still in the more hopeful camp with regards to getting kachi koshi. and we have 3 folks at 4-7, so we really need to cheer those kids on to a lot more victories, so they can avoid the dreaded mk.
we're just about close enough for me to start with my fun banzuke speculation, but not quite yet. we'll see how things go today, but more likely i'll be doing that later rather than sooner.
oh, also, i will probably abandon the sakura daily posts on days 13 and 14, and i should post to the main list as well about the quality award standings. we're headed up to Penn State to visit for my daughter, who is currently looking for a college to attend, and we have a couple of super busy days planned. don't know what kind of time i'll have.
meanwhile, today sekihiryu said:
If Mr. McMurphy doesn't want to take his medication orally, I'm
sure we can arrange that he can have it some other way. But I
don't think that he would like it.
chabo feels like he should know this one. but he can't remember.
sakuran of the day? in support of his bid to stay in makuuchi, hows about andonishiki! he takes the win and closes the gap, hopefully he can do it. go andonishiki!
