Hash Trash No 693
Scribed by Rambo
No one has asked me to write this but since Cool Chica only arrived after an afternoon of sex with Doc Gyneco, as the circle was closing, and as the two Duponts were nowhere to be seen and as Loose Moose -- who once upon a time volunteered to fill in as Scribe in a pinch -- was absent, I have decided to write a few words.
The Duck family brought visitors from Switzerland and Ireland. Tubeless brought visitors from the U.S. Long-lost hashers like Bob the Builder and Anaconda, emerged from the shadows. All these new and nearly-new faces made for a festive backdrop as nearly 30 showed up at Tubeless' new house for the first hash of 2010. The trail wound through well known neighborhoods, but with several new twists and turns. Several managed to get themselves lost (Sweet Cheeks, Marionnette, Anaconda and a few others) and dribbled back to the On-In after the rest of the group.
We were treated to a beer stop at a bar set up inside a 20-foot ocean container along the route, about 10-minutes from the On-In.
At some point, the walkers and runners trails split, later to reunite. This route layout was most pleasing to the runners, because at one spot, the walkers were actually ahead of the runners, on a shared trail. This gave the runners the opportunity to break through the ranks of the walkers and experience that feeling of self-congratulation runners love, when they have an audience of friends and well-wishers watching them perform.
The circle was treated to L.L. Cool J.J. beginning his apprenticeship as SongMeister. He repeated Rambo 's songs tentatively this time, but we are looking forward to him coming into his own, and bringing his own style and new songs to the circle in the future. The circle closed with the song "Swing Low", complete with animation and special effects. Once the hash went in peace, the fine dinner provided by Tubeless, was served. Rice, spiced beans, fruit salad and guacamole with home-made chips were awaiting the hashers.
A special thanks to the host, Tubeless, for organizing the beer-stop, music and dinner, and to his able assistant, Ganja Planter who was instrumental in the selection, purchase and preparation of the food, the DJ-ing of the music and the professional supplying of drinks in her role as Beer Bitch.
Now it's the time, for her naming, Sylvie decided to pair up with KHHH expert for finding beautiful remote place: Fake Black Ass. And this week is no exception as the bring us in Nyamata, a 20 km ride from Kicukiro. To be part of this year first out-of-town hash, be at the entrance of Sonatube at 3h30. From UTC roundabout, go toward the airport and DO NOT TURN at the ENGEN gas station, continue straight toward Kicukiro. Still continue straight at the small roundabout (after the Petro Station) still toward Kicukiro. Go on the same road until a big roundabout, you will see a painted SONATUBE sign on the right, take the first road on your right (toward Kicukiro market) and the first entrance on your right is the meeting point. Convoy starts at 3h33.
DON 'T YOU DARE MISS IT!
Sms hash to 123.: Meet at 3h25 at Sonatube roundabout in Kicukiro for a convoy to Nyamata.
Thanks to SMS Media.

SO, WHAT IS THE HASH? AND WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Kigali Hash House Harriers is a group of Rwandans and expats, including men and women of all ages, that meet every Saturday to get some exercise, visit various corners of Kigali and Rwanda , and enjoy post exercise refreshment and the company of others.
We have groups for both runners and walkers. If the weekly event is in Kigali , our normal meeting time is 3:30 pm for a 4:00 out. If the Hash is outside of Kigali , times may change. The weekly fee is 2000 francs per person which covers water, sodas, and beers (and if you're very well behaved - post hash brochettes).
SO BASICALLY, WE ARE A BUNCH OF DRINKERS WITH A RUNNING AND WALKING PROBLEM! Yeah, that is how you can call us!
