Ya know..as far as tools go, I'm thinking you could make runestaves
easily with the Swiss Army knife that has the little saw on it. It's
amazing how easily wood can be carved when it's fresh-cut (green). I
might try to find one a the local sporting goods store.

Thanks so much for the information. :-) I'm looking forward to making
my own runestaves. My life partner has offered to help me with the
twigs, now that walking on three legs (with a cane) will be the norm
from now on. Would it be okay if he picks up the twigs for me? I won't

there is nothing wrong with getting help I always say. You have some
nice pecan trees in the Carolinas. they're nut bearing and the wood
is very straight-grained and beautiful. Carve it while it's green or
            you're in for a chore...Just a thought.

              Greetings Rig,

Thank you very much, I would love to read and learn from your book, but
I live in the US and had problems converting the currency. I'm going to
be in London and Wales in October. Is there any other way I can
purchase a copy with US funds or get the proper currency when I go to
              Europe?

              Thanks and Blessings,
              Angel

Thanks so much, Robin. I'll ask around and see if there's a pecan tree
in my area. The woods I spoke of in an earlier post are on private
property that I have permission to visit anytime. Perhaps I can find
                one there. :-)

                  Greetings Rig,

Thank you very much, I would love to read and learn from your book, but
I live in the US and had problems converting the currency. I'm going to
be in London and Wales in October. Is there any other way I can
purchase a copy with US funds or get the proper currency when I go to
                  Europe?

                  Thanks and Blessings,
                  Angel

Thanks again, Robin. I checked with the property owner last night and
there is a pecan tree which I can visit anytime I desire. :-) I've got
a very hectic schedule the next couple of weeks (ah, the joys of being
self-employed <g>) but will get started as soon as I can. I'm going out
of town this weekend and will be gone the week the 14th - the 21st for
a long overdue vacation -- my first in over five years. Is there a site
which will tell me how to make them? I'm clueless here. I know I need
to get some twigs, but what then?

                      Thanks and Blessings,
                      Angel

                            Angel,

I have a technique I'm developing, but it would be easier if I was
there to show you. At any rate, the most important thing is to start
working the wood immediately. You will be amazed at how easy it is
                            to work with green wood.

                                Robin,
A walk in the woods will do me a world of good today, as my father is
in hospital with heart complications, and there's not much I can do but
pray and wait. During times like these, I seek solace and comfort in
the depths of nature. I hope she will gift me with the twigs today. :-)

                                With Gratitude and Blessings,
                                Angel
