Mary Jo Otsea RTAM on Super Smalls from Sotheby's
Dear folks Dear folks
This email announces the post of a virtual version of a Textile Museum Rug and Textile Appreciation Morning program given on May 8, 2010, by Mary Jo Otsea, the international head of Sothebys rug department.
Mary Jos program was entitled Super Smalls from Sothebys, and included pieces drawn from various Sotheby auctions over the years.
Mary Jos work world is intense and busy, and, although she permitted me to fashion a virtual version of her RTAM program, she has not been able to provide descriptions of most of the pieces she brought and showed. I have not felt free to offer descriptions of auction pieces.
So, perhaps, the most salient thing to note, generally, about the pieces in this virtual version, is that Mary Jo selected them.
Sometimes readers write me saying that theyve looked at all of the images in a given post, but have not (yet) read the text. The fact that the images are often the most important parts of these posts to lots of readers, encouraged Mary Jo and I to present the pieces in her program as eye candy, mostly without comment.
You can reach this post by clicking on the link immediately below or by copying the link and pasting it into your browser.
All of these methods take you to an about page on my blog. The post being announced is the first in red in the column on the right.
There are, again, a large number of images in these posts, so you may have to be a bit patient while they load.
You are receiving this email because you are on one of my lists of ruggies. Because there is some unavoidable overlap, you may receive more than one of these announcing emails. If you do, please just use your delete key. If you would prefer not to receive future announcements about such posts, please contact me at and I will remove your name from my listings.
I do not permit direct comments in this blog, and do not particularly encourage any, but if you have something that you feel is useful to share, you can send it to me at the email address above, with your permission to quote you should I decide to publish it.
I want to thank Mary Jo for permitting me to share with you these images from her program.
I hope you enjoy this post, which is another that is more virtual than usual.
