      CCSU GEOGRAPHY: One-year Faculty Position (C10-157)

      The Department of Geography at the Central Connecticut State University invites applications for a full-time one-year assistant professor level Tourism Geography position with a regional focus on U.S. and Canada beginning August 23, 2010. The Department anticipates advertising for a tenure-track position in tourism geography in the near future.
      PhD in Geography, Tourism or allied field required, ABD will be considered. Teaching experience in Tourism geography is required.  Ability to teach introductory and advanced-level courses in tourism geography and/or hospitality is expected. The courses to be taught in fall 2010 are two sections of tourism planning course and two sections of introductory geography course. A strong commitment to teaching is expected.

      The department is particularly interested in and values candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, along with a demonstrated commitment to improving access and the conditions in higher education for less represented students.

      Applications received before July 22, 2010 will receive preference.  Review of applications will continue until position is filled.
