CALL FOR PAPERS
The Journal of Unconventional Parks, Tourism & Recreation Research (JUPTRR) is a forum for research that is unconventional, or research and articles that represent “out of the box” thinking. JUPTRR is an electronic outlet for innovative ideas and methodologies
that would not normally appear in traditional journals. All research articles are peer reviewed and can be accessed online (http://juptrr.asp.radford.edu/Current.htm) free of charge. JUPTRR is inclusive of all recreation research including outdoor recreation,
tourism, therapeutic recreation, park management, and experiential education. Applied researchers, first-time authors, practitioners, graduate students, and researchers with a sense of exploration are encouraged to submit manuscripts and join the editorial
Submission deadline for manuscripts is February 15th.
Upcoming Special Issue: In 2010, JUPTRR will be soliciting manuscripts on dark tourism, the act of travel and visitation to sites, attractions, and exhibitions which has real or re-created death, suffering or the seemingly macabre as a main theme (Stone, 2005).
Examples of dark tourism locations include cemetaries, battlefields, prisons, hospitals, memorials, disaster sites, and haunted places.
