      The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management invites applications for Assistant/Associate Professor of Tourism Studies specializing in tourism, hospitality, sport, or event/meeting management.  This position also includes being the director of the Accelerated Master of Tourism Administration (ATMA) online degree program.  This is a tenure track appointment that begins the academic year of 2009/2010. 

       

      Basic Qualifications:  All applicants must possess:   (a) an earned doctoral degree by August 1, 2009 in tourism or a related field; (b) demonstrated commitment to scholarly research as evidenced by publication in scholarly journals, scholarly works in progress, or research presentations; (c) and a minimum of three years of teaching experience at the university level which is documented by assessments of teaching performance and effectiveness.

       

      Preferred Qualifications:  Candidates are sought with knowledge of and prior experience in the use of mediated learning, distance education and related educational technology and administration of a tourism or hospitality degree program.  Ideal candidates will have a minimum of one year of full time professional experience in the tourism, hospitality, sport or event/meeting field; excellent communication skills; and the demonstrated ability to work effectively within a diverse community, including domestic and international students, university faculty/staff and industry professionals. 

       

      Review Date:  Review of applications will begin on January 15, 2009, and will continue until the position is filled.
