      Clemson University's Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism
      Management (PRTM) is pleased to announce an opening for a nine-month, open
      rank (Assistant/Associate/Full), tenure track faculty position in the area
      of Tourism Policy, Planning and Management. Expertise in tourism
      communications, cultural and heritage tourism is preferred. Other areas of
      tourism expertise also will be considered. Interest in both domestic and
      international tourism is a plus.

      Candidates must me committed to effective teaching, scholarly productivity
      and service to the profession. Responsibilities include conducting a
      program of research associated with travel and tourism within a domestic
      and international context; serve as an academic advisor for graduate and
      undergraduate students; teach in graduate and undergraduate program; and
      participate in service to the university and the profession.

      Clemson University is a land-grant institution of over 16,000 undergraduate
      and graduate students in more than 80 undergraduate and 100 graduate degree
      programs in five colleges. It is ranked 27 among public national
      universities by US News and World Report in 2007. The Department of PRTM
      consists of 25 full-time faculty, 60 graduate students (Masters and Ph.D.)
      and over 467 undergraduates.

      The campus is situated along the shores of Lake Hartwell in the foothills
      of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is is located approximately half way
      between Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte, North Carolina (a two hour drive
      either way). The city of Clemson, South Carolina is a college town with a
      population of approximately 12,000 residents and is located 30 miles from
      Greenville, South Carolina (Pop. 57,428).
