On behalf of the Northeastern Recreation Research (NERR) Steering Committee, it is with great pleasure that I announce our Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Geoffrey Godbey. Dr. Godbey is Professor Emeritus at The Pennsylvania State University and past President of the Academy of Leisure Sciences. Recently, he has conducted research on health and demographic trends and what they mean for the future of leisure and our national parks. Dr. Godbey’s Keynote is titled, “The Volatile Future of Outdoor Recreation.”

With 74 papers, 37 posters, 4 roundtable sessions, and it’s location in Cooperstown, NY, this year’s conference has something for everyone!
General Information. The Symposium will be held from Sunday, April 7th through Tuesday, April 9th, 2013, at the Otesaga Resort, on Lake Otesaga in Cooperstown, New York.
Symposium Registration. The symposium registration form is available at: www.esf.edu/nerr (click on the Pre-registration link or click here for a direct link http://www.esf.edu/nerr/2013/reg.htm). All presenters are expected to register. Note that the early registration deadline is March 18, 2013. The last date to register online will be April3, 2013. To encourage family participation, spouses are invited to attend all symposium events (including meal functions) for a reduced rate. Individual meal tickets can also be purchased.
Hotel Reservations. Reservations for resort accommodations can be made on-line, by fax, or mail. The Otesaga’s online registration website (http://www.esf.edu/nerr/2013/basic.htm).
