      The Recreation, Park and Tourism Management Department at Penn State is pleased to announce a one-year temporary instructor position for the next academic year. Individuals who apply for this position will be eligible to apply for tenure track opportunities that will be advertised during academic year 2013-2014 and later.       INSTRUCTOR OF RECREATION, PARK AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT

      THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY



      The Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Management (RPTM), College of Health and Human Development (HHD), at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a one-year temporary instructional faculty member. This position will start as early as July 1, 2013 but no later than August 15, 2013. This position will run through June 30, 2014. 

       

      The successful candidate will be eligible to apply for tenure-track opportunities that will be advertised during academic year 2013-2014 and later. To be considered for tenure-track opportunities will require a separate application from internal and external candidates

       

      Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching sections of the introductory tourism and commercial recreation courses and/or the marketing course, each of which is delivered in traditional lecture format. The candidate will also be invited to participate in research, outreach, and service within the Department, College, and University.  All qualified applicants will be considered.       Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in recreation, leisure studies, tourism, or a related field. Some experience in teaching tourism, commercial recreation, and/or recreation/tourism marketing courses is highly desirable. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in the field, teaching experience with tourism, commercial recreation and/or recreation/tourism marketing courses, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty in the Department.

       

      Salary:  Competitive salary consistent with qualifications and experience.  Penn State offers an excellent benefit plan and retirement contribution.
