      Dear all

Check out the article in the Sunday (Dec 18) NY Times “When all else fails....Fore!” written by Jonathan Mahler. It is the Sunday magazine cover story. The cover asks “Is There Anything Wrong With This Economy That A Jack Nicklaus-Designed Golf Course Can’t Fix?” It is a story about the attempt to use an upscale real estate development in Benton Harbor MI as a way to revitalize a dead manufacturing town that is 90 percent African-American with a per capita income of $10K. It presents all the complexity of this approach to economic redevelopment. It has great potential for use as a case study.
