You will receive a confirmation email that you need to reply to.
If you have problems, please contact the moderators (currently David
and Matija) at mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org

When you return from holidays, send an email to
and normal email delivery will resume.
Easy way to remember: just add `-nomail', `-normal' to the end of the
left hand side of the email address that you normally use to post to
the whole group.
3. I get too many emails, what can I do ?
You can turn off email and read via the web, just
follow the instructions above for `going on holidays'.
Also, you can get 25 messages, (or 1 days worth) in a single email.
This is called a digest. To choose the digest version, send a blank
email to mailto:email@example.com
4. I posted my message several hours ago, why didn't it appear yet ?
There can be several reasons. Firstly, the group is moderated so your
message will need to be approved before it reaches the group. This
normally takes just a few hours, but could be up to a day.
Also, if your message was a reply to an existing message, be sure that
you directed it to the whole group. By default, reply messages will
only go to the originator of the email. Use the `Reply All' feature of
your email program, or drop down the "To:" box in the eGroups poster,
to select the address of the whole group.
5. Where can I search the archives ?
The email messages are archived, and searchable at a couple of web
locations. Unfortunately none of the available methods offer
comprehensive coverage of the whole history of the group. Nonetheless
you can get reasonable access to the wealth of the past members.
The most complete searchable archive we have contains messages since
27th March 1999, can be searched at:
A fast and accurate search of messages since 26th July 2004 is located
You could also try using Google's copy of the group messages to search
as well. Phrase your search like the following.
The built-in search at Yahoo! is poor and not worth bothering with.
Hopefully a combination of all of above will help you find what you are
6. How come my name comes up in internet searches ?
When you post to the group your email header and text are archived
publicly on the internet. If this includes information that may
identify you, people might be able to find this.
