  • I made a trailer hitch to mount on a Tubus rack for a Wike trailer that is intended to mount to a seat post. I modified a seat post and bolted it to two aluminum plates that I bolted (clamped) around the top and bottom of the rack. Only tools required were a drill press (could use a hand drill) band saw (could use a hack saw) and bench grinder. Works well. If I can find the photos...

  • Not exactly apples to apples but at less than a fifth the price and conservatively double the brightness: http://www.amazon.com/SecurityIng%C2%AE-Headlight-Headlamp-Bicycle-Packaging/dp/B009QX8B2Q/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419509368&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=3800+lumen+led+bike+lite I have one and it is fine. Have only used it a couple of times though. If you look around on Amazon...

  • Mine broke awhile ago and I just tied a new knot in the cord. Has worked fine since. Do let us know what the cost for a new one is; if the price is right that is easer than a DIY, but the DIY is easy enough. David

  • I have been following this thread with some interest. First of all, not offended in the least by what is at most a very mild commercial angle to one post. All good with me. More important, I have a Big Dummy with a Rohloff and therefore no front derelieur. I wonder whether an Edgerunner chain guard would work. Is there a picture of one somewhere that I could look at? Thanks. David

  • It’s “only” a website but that website is (was) about the only consistent concise source of information about the products and the main means to purchase those products. This list is great but it is not a source to browse merchandize or to purchase it. David Dannenberg

  • I am sure they have good reason. I suppose the site works to market to someone. I don’t think they hate us. It is just enormously frustrating for me to try to get any information about any of the products. There used to be a photo and description of every accessory, sometimes even a link to a video (the sidecar for example). I don’t know how I would even buy most of the...

  • I’ll be more blunt. I hate the new website. Can’t find anything anymore. Close to zero information about accessories—if you can find them at all. I don’t know what they are thinking. David

  • All, I remember some discussions about carrying bikes on BDs or Xtracycles, but can’t find much in the archives. A friend wants to transport a bike on his BD without trailing it—drivers where he lives are pretty clueless and the shorter he is the less likely he is to get hit! Didn’t someone mount a roof rack tray to a wideloader (with Longloader presumably) ? Any tips...
