Re: [rootsradicals] Re: bike songs / wfmu
- Montclair is really doing a lot of stuff for bikes and pedestrians right now; the current mayor is the former president of Bike Montclair, who ran I think just to get some attention for his issues, and really was surprised that he won. They just received a grant of about 400,000 for safe routes to school, and seem really committed to bikes. I went to one of their meetings, and there was some talk about how you could get bike lanes on Bloomfield Avenue.
Anyhow, thanks to everyone for all the help! I still welcome any more bike song suggestions, so far they have been really awesome. I think there are mp3 links (and some other formats) of the show up now, but I'm not sure how long they stay.
I talk about this group in the chatter around 2:01:16 and I maybe should have stayed away from the champagne slushies, but I know I never will. The bike set is right after that.

Freeform Radio and Freeradicals - makes sense to me. I paid my way through Upsala College by working in a bikeshop back when WFMU was the College radio station (the College is gone but the station lives on) and we listened to the station in the shop (The Bikery in Montclair). I still listen from Hawaii on the web and next week I'll be listening from Uppsala Sweden when I am there as well. Unfortunately, it is way too expensive to bring the BD with me to Sweden so I'm bringing my Alex Moulton Double Pylon instead, which will fit in a standard size suitcase.
