    Riding through snow is work as you need to have the tires move or compress the snow. Also studded tires are intended more for ice conditions rather than snow.

      Riding through snow is work as you need to have the tires move or compress the snow. Also studded tires are intended more for ice conditions rather than snow. One criticiam I have read of the Schwalbe Marathon Winter is that it is not knobby enough to be a good snow tire.
