3497Re: [rootsradicals] Tire recommendations?
- Mar 25, 2008My son has Continental town and country (just on a bike).
I use Schwalbe Big Apple, (the big ones, 2.3 inches wide).
I ride a lot more than my son, neither of us has problems with
flats (I think I had one, once).
I have heard other people recommend Maxxis Hookworm,
but I don't know if they will fit in the available space.
Generally, bigger is better, till it will not fit, as long as the tire
is smooth. Your tires will last longer if you are careful not to
skid the rear wheel (it's easy to do that on a longtail).
