Group Description

Welcome to the Egroup community of the Records and Information Management Liaison Group. This is the launch page of the RIMLG Mailing Group. This mailing group will alert members to issues and calendar events associated with RIMLG.

The RIMLG exists to provide:

An information exchange for the officers engaged in records and information management in state and local governments, and statutory bodies of Western Australia as well as a forum for professional development and discussion and exchange of ideas. RIMLG is an important facility to raise issues and develop a consensus approach, particularly in regard to proposed legislative changes.

The membership for both RIMLG and RIMLG Executive is open to employees of state and local governments, and statutory bodies of Western Australia. RIMLG has entered a growth phase and we are keen to encourage new members, particularly from the Local Government sector.

RIMLG has been successful in lobbying government in the implementation of new legislation that affects the operations of Public Sector Records Managers including the Evidence Act (amendments) and State Records Bill. With the rapid changes in technology, software and the emergence of Web based delivery of Records Management tools, it is important that we are able to meet regularly and discuss these things amongst our peers. Our meetings are lively and intended to provide opportunity to communicate in person and facilitate a supportive environment in the rapidly changing Information and Records Management environment.

If you are not currently on the email list for RIMLG and would like to know more about forthcoming meetings and events, please accept this invitation to join the RIMLG Egroup listing.
