      >
      > This bill requires child care facilities to come up with a required vaccination schedule yet it does not require child care facilities to offer a conscientious exemption. It permits a facility to offer the exemption, but as we saw from when Senator Nelson did this last session with Health Care Workers, most facilities won't offer the exemption. This is the same language that passed last session for health care workers where several times the legislature amended it to require a conscientious exemption and the bill author, Senator Nelson, had the requirement for the exemption stripped out. This bill will result in the firing of dedicated child care workers just like it did for health care workers last session. Nobody should have to choose between a vaccine and their job.

      >
      > This bill is trying to get rid of the current requirement in law that parents are required to give opt-in informed consent before their kid's or an individual's vaccine records are tracked and recorded in a state surveillance database. It is proposing to make people opt-out of being tracked instead. You should never have to ask the state permission to not take your private medical information to put in a database.
