Rewild, v; to foster and maintain a sustainable way of life through hunter-gatherer-gardener social and economic systems; including, but not limited to, the encouragement of social, physical, spiritual, mental and environmental biodiversity and the prevention and undoing of social, physical, spiritual, mental and environmental domestication and enslavement.
We're a group of people concerned with rewilding ourselves and the creation of a new culture(s) based on forming healthy, egalitarian relationships between people, as well as with our environment. We aim to accomplish this by learning to hunt, fish, forage, and garden in ways that reinforce biodiversity instead of destroying it as agriculture and civilization do. This generally involves both physical and social technologies based on those used by "primitive" cultures, as well as a healthy dose of our own creativity and inventiveness. We encourage art, music, storytelling, and other aspects of healthy societies. We also do this by realizing the myriad ways in which civilization, as defined by agriculture and the formation of cities, is bad for us and the world.
This group will be used for discussions furthering this aim in the New England area, and should be kept to subjects pertaining to this in some way. This can include setting up meetings and networking, advertising related events, permaculture and gardening techniques, and discussions about technologies both social and physical. It can also include discussions of animistic worldviews and critiques of civilization. In short, it can include a lot.
Excluded things include: unrelated advertisements, obvious proselytizing for civilized groups, and inane arguments from people who obviously haven't taken the time to read at least the basic primitivist literature. Educated arguments are welcome, of course.
