                On Thursday, January 30th, the People’s Organization for Progress will host award-winning filmmaker, investigative journalist and author Danny Schechter, who will discuss his critically acclaimed work on the late Nelson Mandela!
                Schechter is best known for his film, Mandela In America. He has done nine documentary films on Nelson Mandela.
                He was the producer for the critically news show South Africa Now, which provided critically important investigative pieces on South Africa in the last days of the Apartheid Regime.
                He was recently a guess on Democracy Now in the aftermath of Nelson Mandela’s death in December.
       
       
                He is a founding journalist and producer for Global Vision and Media Channel.
                He has reported in 49 different countries!
                He is also the author of The More You Watch, The Less You Know. His most recent book is Madiba from A to Z.
                “There are far too few reporters like Danny Schechter around now,” said an excited Lawrence Hamm, the organization’s founding chairman.
                “We are very fortunate, not just to have him with us Thursday, but to have him around now in this epoch exposing injustice at the level he has done.”
                He will address the organization’s general assembly at 6:30pm.
                The People’s Organization for Progress’ general assembly meets at Abyssinian Baptist Church, 224 West Kinney Street, Newark every Thursday at 6:30pm
