Attention homeschooling parents,
The East Coast Homeschool Organization (ECHO) will have its' annual fall registration and orientation day on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at the Jacksonville Bible Church located at 501 Anne St. in downtown Jacksonville. Current members will have registration at 9 a.m. and new members will have registration at 10 a.m. New member registration should take approximately 90 minutes as there will be a brief question/answer session, brief tutorial on ECHOhsers yahoo group use and a tour of the facility. Childcare will not be available during registration/orientation so please make any necessary arrangements for your children during that time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
ECHO will continue to meet on Thursdays from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. for the 2012-2013 school year (Sept. - May). Field trips and community service events are also in the works. More information about those events will be released once date confirmations have been received. Scholastic Book Clubs will be offered for toddlers through teens again this year. The annual yearbook and group newsletter will be produced by our journalism students for the third year in a row. To help raise additional funds for group activities/events or equipment, ECHO participates in the General Mills Box Tops for Education program and the Christian Book Distributors affiliate program. Member participation in these programs allows ECHO to avoid other time-consuming, door-to-door fundraisers. ECHO fees are as follows for Fall 2012:
*** ALL fees are non-refundable.
- Rent/Utilities fee: $25 per family per semester
- Liability Insurance fee: $25 per family per semester
- ECHO membership fee: $15 per family per semester
- Activity fees: varies per family per semester based on number of children and their chosen activities
Attachments of the fall activities schedule and back pack list are included in this email. The Chemistry Lab fee includes both Fall and Spring semesters. Parents are required to teach or assist with at least 2 hours of activities each week so please be sure to have at least 4 choices ready for registration day regarding where you would like to do your volunteer hours. Every effort will be made to place parents in their choice of activities but necessity may dictate placement in order provide all of our children with the supervision needed for a safe learning environment.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding ECHO, please send an email to president@...
and a response will be sent as soon as possible. ECHO has a lot of fun, educational activities and events planned for the upcoming school year and we hope that your family will be able to join us.
