    The Catalog says 13-24T freewheel and Regina Oro chain. It is possible, but I can't remember (it was almost 40 years ago), that the bike shop put on the 13-23

    I recall vividly the sense that Raleigh was setting us up as mechanics with their choices of decal placement. It wasn't just the pump clip when it fell over

This is for and about the "Professional" model racing bike built by Calton c. 1967-1983 and badged as Carlton for UK market and Raleigh for the US market.

Rules of the Road

1. Enjoy and Contribute! Use the message section to post new topics or reply to existing ones. Contribute photos to the photos section or large scans (catalogues etc) to the files section. Add your Professional frame to the Data Base, an invaluable reference to the topic.

2. Please stay on topic... this is about Professionals only not other models.

3. For Sale/Trade listings: are welcome. Please ensure that they are clearly listed as such i.e. For Sale:, have a defined asking price, if and where you are prepared to ship and a full description. And please post ONCE. If you have prospective buyers, please continue your discussions via private e-mail. What you are selling should be a Carlton/Raleigh Professional, appropriate components or related material/kit etc.. only.

4. No Fishing Expeditions: we ask that you refrain from "I found this at the local tip, how much is it worth? Members are expected to contribute to the group as well as tap its remarkable collective knowledge but not act as a commercial sales advice column or proxy bidding site.
