Group Description

Before asking to join, please read this entire writeup.

The purpose of this group is to facilitate the swap of information about programming two-way radio equipment (also called land mobile radio) and enabling options that aren't commonly used or even known about. This group does not support broadcast radio systems.

We focus on the more popular brands like Motorola, Harris, Tait, Icom, Kenwood, Simoco, Philips, Sawtron, Maxon, Vertex, etc. if you have any information, feel free to share it here. If you are looking for some info, feel free to ask here. If you need software or programming facilities, we may be able to point you in the right direction. JUST ASK!

When you join, tells us WHY you want to join.
Just saying "Thanks" is an assumption of automatic approval, which isn't going to happen.
If you are a licensed amateur radio operator please include your callsign.
Saying "Hi" or "Can I join the group please?" really isn't enough...
Neither is saying "Hi, I'm Neil" (or whatever your name is).
And outright ordering us to approve you really doesn't work. Your request will be ignored.
Again, tell us why.

New group members are placed automatically on moderation to prevent drive-by spam. Good behavior results in the moderation flag being removed. Misbehavior will result in you being placed back on moderation, or outright banning.
And your moderators all have day jobs, so don't be surprised f your first message takes a day or two to show up.

Lastly, if you are asking for assistance with a recalcitrant radio, it helps to mention where you are. Sometimes the person responding is only a few miles or kilometers away.

Thanks in advance.
