Group Description

Welcome to Quilts for Older Children and Adults. We are an all volunteer group making counted cross stitch quilts (at no cost to the recipient) for older children and adults ages 18 and older with terminal illnesses, lifelong illnesses or disabilities. Quilt requests are accepted from anywhere in the world.

The group is always looking for dedicated members who enjoy sharing their cross stitching talents and quilting talents to bring smiles to people and animals.

The group was founded in April 2006 by a few volunteers who realized that there are many older teens and adults who would love to have a quilt of their own. Unfortunately there were no groups who offered quilts for people age 18+ and that is when Quilts For Older Children and Adults went from becoming a dream to a reality.

In 2007 the group received a request to help a no-kill animal shelter with their fundraising efforts. It was a success and the group continues to help other no-kill shelters throughout the United States.

The group has expanded its focus to include making lap quilts for senior citizens, for raffle quilts, for younger children, for emergency requests when people can not wait the 6-7 months for a large quilt and for people who prefer a smaller size quilt.

If you would like to request a quilt, a lap quilt or fundraising items for no-kill animal shelters or a charity event - please send an e-mail to:
