      I'm trying to make a quenya name for a friend....

      I read the quenya course about a year ago, but its been so long i'm a bit rusty....i haven't been very active in months.....so i am going to review, but since my friend is impatient, i thought i'd ask for some help

      I'm trying to combine light and water into a feminine name.....my name, mórináro is "dark-fire", so she wants "light-water" (??) i think it sounds kind of awkward, but thats what she wants.....

      so, cala or cálë (cáli-).....and nén, would be nen-, right? and what feminine ending do i add after that, or is calanén/cálinén good enough?

      thanks

                          I think that what you already have is a great name.  I've looked up light and water (I'm quite rusty too!) and have found:
            light = cal  (C pronounced as "s")
            water = nen

            This you already know and though light could be kal, for a more feminine name I would suggest using the "c".  The ë in the middle is a good possibility, I didn't find that, and I would definatly use that.

            Hope this helps,
            Namárië,
            Quendein

                          I read the quenya course about a year ago, but its been so long i'm a bit rusty....i haven't been very active in months.....so i am going to review, but since my friend is impatient, i thought i'd ask for some help

                          I'm trying to combine light and water into a feminine name.....my name, mrinro is "dark-fire", so she wants "light-water" (??) i think it sounds kind of awkward, but thats what she wants.....

                          so, cala or cl (cli-).....and nn, would be nen-, right? and what feminine ending do i add after that, or is calann/clinn good enough?

                          thanks

                          Namri! Nai Anar cl tielyanna!
                           -- Mrinro
