Another issue that you might want to be aware of is that the Peformance Monitor is broken in PeopleTools 8.49.
It keeps opening ports on the monitored app servers and not shutting them down, leaving them in status CLOSE_WAIT, Unix systems eventually run out of ports, and the App Server becomes unavailable to new connections.
It is (allegedly) fixed from patch 14, which is now GA (I haven't tested it, nor have I been able to find the fix report on CC)

      regards

      I just had similar issue.

This is how I fixed the problem.

Navigate to PeopleTools > Security > Security Objects > Single Signon.  Make sure that your default local node is listed there.

Subject: PeopleSoft DBA Forum Distribution Agent fails to 'post' in Tools 8.49.13

      Hi Everyone,

We are upgrading to PeopleTools 8.49.13 (from 8.44.17) and we have run into a problem with

      the Distribution Agent.

We are in touch with PeopleSoft about this issue, but are not making much progress,

so I was hoping you might be able to help.

Basically our upgraded system is otherwise ok, but we are getting an HTTP error

when the Distribution Agent tries to ‘post’.

      The DSTAGNT.LOG (using LogFence=5) files shows :-

So far we have looked at the configuration for :-

      (a) The PeopleTools/Process Scheduler/Report Nodes page

      (b) The PeopleTools/Process Scheduler/Servers page

      (c) The PeopleTools/Portal/Node Definitions Page, where the ‘Authentication Option' must be 'Password'.

      (d) The configuration.properties file

      (e) The PeopleTools/Web Profile/Web Profile Configuration Page

      These all look ok.

As part of the upgrade to PT8.49.13, we have also upgraded the Windows server on

which the web-server runs, and where the Report Repository lives,

from Win 2000 to Win 2003.

We have also upgraded Weblogic from 8.1SP3 to 9.2SP1.

Are there any other places where configuration is done ?

Is there something in PT8.49 to be considered that was not in PT8.44 ?

Has anybody else got any bright ideas ?

      Thanks very much,

            (a) The PeopleTools/ Process Scheduler/Report Nodes page

            (b) The PeopleTools/ Process Scheduler/Servers page

            (e) The PeopleTools/ Web Profile/Web Profile Configuration Page

            These all look ok.

As part of the upgrade to PT8.49.13, we have also upgraded the Windows server on

which the web-server runs, and where the Report Repository lives,

from Win 2000 to Win 2003.

We have also upgraded Weblogic from 8.1SP3 to 9.2SP1.

Are there any other places where configuration is done ?

Is there something in PT8.49 to be considered that was not in PT8.44 ?

Has anybody else got any bright ideas ?

            Thanks very much,
