      Hi,

      We use :
      Tools Release 8.19.06
      Application Release HRMS 8.30.01.000

I have this kind of error when users launch COBOL SQL like :
      GPPDPRUN (GLOBAL PAYROLL)

      In file "$PS_HOME/appserv/prcs/[domain]/log_output/CBL_GPPDPRUN_XX"

rts32: Error 114 encountered during finalization
Due to misuse, a reboot is required

      Our App/Proc Sched is a HP-UX 11i
Any ideas to help me, please ?
      Thanks.

        Hi

I had this problem as well. It's a pretty generic cobol error I think. I'm
not sure if the following applies to you.

In our case, we found this to happen after we had to clear the IPC memory
segments using killipc.sh after an appserver hangup for example. If Cobol
and the PIA are using the same unix account, then killipc.sh will release
the memory/semaphores/FIFOs allocated to the PIA *as well as* the cobol license
manager's. Which is, er, bad :-)

To fix that, we had to reboot the unix machine. I think we tried to cycle
the cobol license manager and it failed.

To prevent this from happening again :
        - use distinct unix accoutns for PIA and Cobol
        - instead of killipc.sh, use a softer procedure, which was already described
        on this forum.

        hope this helps
        PJ Pallez
