      Hello Dino

If you ever saw here in the 1990s BBC series 'Lovejoy' where you have a brief appearance in season 1's episode, 'The Axeman Cometh', you probably came close to the real her because she was smiling most of the time.

Yeah, I was saddened, and stunned, when I read of her passing nearly a year ago. I last remember seeing her on screen in the Russell T. Davies series 'Wizards vs. Aliens', which was available on Netflix at the time. (It lasted 3 seasons, was left open-ended like Series 4 of 'Torchwood' ("Miracle Day" series), and according to Davies done so intentionally so he could start up from where things left off at anytime he could get around to it.)

According to Ms. Merton's obituary, Peck thought very highly of her: "A career highlight was sharing romantic scenes with Gregory Peck in The Chairman (1969).. She was touched when, after Peck’s death, she was given a handwritten note he had sent to a director recommending her for a role (which she had been unaware of)." It doesn't say what that role might have been, but her full obit can be found here:
      https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2018/sep/18/zienia-merton-obituary

After looking over her film and TV career, I was amazed at how many productions she was in, many of which I've seen, but didn't recognize her at the time.

      Dino.

Since The Chairman has been discussed as a possible influence on Search, here is a link to an online review of the movie, which is being released on Blu-Ray:

The review saddened me, since I had not heard about the passing of Zienia Merton.
