      Maine/Québec Conference

      on

      Number Theory & Related Topics

      University of Maine, October 1 & 2, 2005

      History

In 1998 number theorists at the ULaval and UMaine founded the
Maine/Québec Conference on Number Theory and Related Areas which is held
annually on a weekend in early October. We try to get number theorists
and other mathematicians in areas related to number theory from New
England and eastern Canada well as some "from away" to come and give
talks; and it has been quite successful so far. Each year there's a
change in venue: odd years at UMaine, even years at U. Laval. This fall,
it will be held on October 1st and 2nd in Orono, ME. The conference will
start on the morning of Saturday Oct. 1 and end Sunday afternoon.

All are welcome to attend. Usually each participant gives a talk of
      20-50 minutes.
Directions and hotel information will be posted here later.
Some funding should be available for hotel accomodation.

This year the organizers are David Bradley, Andrew Knightly, and Ali
Ozluk at the UMaine Math dept <http://germain.umemat.maine.edu/>.

If you plan to attend, or if you would like more information, please
      contact:
