      Hello all,

      I've recently been using NFSX in the hunt for brilliant numbers.
      However, I've recently come across a number that seems to be making NFSX
      crash on me. I don't have any other machines to test this on and I was
      wondering if someone else could try and see if they get the same error,
      or if its some combination of processor, memory, bad parameter chosing
      on my part that is messing this whole scheme up. The number I'm testing
      is: 10^103+9693
      I'm using NFSX v1.8 on a P4 1.8GHz and 512MB pc-133 RAM with parameter:
      A=10:M=A^20:Fx#=1000*_X^5+9693:NR=val(Fx#,M):N=NR

      The program runs until step 3c, performs a few calculations on step 3c
      (it doesn't come anywhere near finishing step 3c) and the crashes on
      me. I was wondering if anyone here might be able to look into this to
      see whats going wrong, or if anyone knew who to ask so we can resolve
      this issue. Thanks for your time and/or help.

      ... I tried using these parameters but for me too, the program crashes early in step 3c I tried again using: A=10:M=A^21:Fx#=_X^5+969300:NR=val(Fx#,M):N=NR/100

        I tried using these parameters but for me too, the program crashes early in
        step 3c

        I tried again using:

        A=10:M=A^21:Fx#=_X^5+969300:NR=val(Fx#,M):N=NR/100

        And after about 5 hours on a P4 2,55GHz it creates the following output
        file:
