Re: [PrimeNumbers] Goldbach's conjecture
- Dear Huang,
first of all, it is better to be modest and cautious. Yuo shoud have
written only that you think, you have proven the Goldbach's
conjecture. There are at least 10 people (may be 50) claiming
yearly that they have it proven, but all of those turned out to be
false proofs, so far. Of course, I am not saying that your proof is
false, since I know nothing of it. I only say that your chances to
find the proof are slim.
So, what to do? I think the best thing you could do is to "publish"
your ideas electronically, for example thourgh this list, either in a
simple text form, by e-mail, or by downloading a Word or other
type of file to the file area of the list. When you distribute your
ideas in this list, then at least 50 people all over the world will know
about it, which is a good warranty to ensure your primacy,
assuming the proof is correct. At the same time, it could be a
"primary filter", since there are several good mathematicians on the
list, who have a good chance to pinpoint the possible weaknesses
of your proof. If nobody on this list can confute your proof, still it
does not guarantee its correctness. I think you should try also
distributing your ideas on the NMBRTHRY list, having many really
hard theoreticians. After getting approval from these you may try to
submit it to a mathematics paper. There, of course, it will be
reviewed even more seriously.
