According to Citizens for Health (they're on the web), more than 54 million
Americans actively use natural and alternative healthcare products (this
        does not include organic foods).

Harvard Medical School published a study in, I think, 1992 that indicated
that this was a $4 billion market - since then, the laws have changed and
the market has opened dramatically - we now have herbal sections in drug
and grocery stores, and the products are heavily media-advertised. Based
on this, $10 billion is a conservative answer, but I can't document that.

Check out HealthWorld Online (http://www.healthworld.com) - they have
25,000-plus pages of natural and alternative health information online; if
the data isn't there, ask their experts - they are an excellent info.

Yeah. I don't know why you down-under folk refer to the alpahbet's last
letter as "Zed" (rhymes with "Ned"), but you call that neigboring Antipode
country as New Zealand ... I mean, where's the logic?

I'm asking this of someone who lives in "Greater Dandenong?" ... (and is
            there a "Lesser Dandenong?")

Seriously - I spent about two years as the volunteer (read unpaid) PR
Director for Citizens for Health, and helped lead the charge that changed
FDA regulations on herbs and supplements; then I had a paid position for
several years as out-of-the-box marketer for HealthWorld Online, then and
now the world's largest natural and alternative health website. So I do
know a few things on that subject.

Beyond that (since you asked), my wife's theme-song for me (to the tune of
"Me and Bobbie McGee) is "Freedom's just another word for Ned can't keep a
job ..." - in my 187 years in the field, I've had a number of different and
interesting positions (none for very long) ...

So, yeah. What about New Zedland, anyway?

            Ned
