Research and evalution of information is very important to the members of
this discussion group. Increasingly the internet is a major resource for
finding information. But the internet is hardly a peer reviewed journal.
Quite the opposite, the internet is laden with hoaxes, misinformation and
fraud. Jennifer Ellis has in a very readable style, quite miraculous in
itself for a publication from the legal field, put together a very
excellent article that discusses some of the ways of detecting fraud,
hoaxes and misinformation as well as providing quite a few website
listings for resources that deal with frauds or how to evaluate
information. You may want to keep the URL for this article handy and
      refer to it often.
