Media Lists for Small Shops - Vote Yes if Interested
This is for small shop owner/operators, and for smaller client-sized folks
who have occasional needs for quality media lists.
Following recent discussions on several lists about the need for (and
difficulty getting) quality, affordable media lists, Cheryl Gordon at Launch
Communications has taken point with MediaMap (no affiliation). Cheryl has
been successful in getting them to consider a special lower-cost product for
those of us who need media lists (occasionally) but who can't afford the
big-ticket MediaMap (and who are frustrated with the quality or
accessibility of other, more affordable lists). She's asked to help get the
word out on this, and to enlist your participation.
MediaMap is willing to consider tailoring a PR list product to the needs of
PR independents and those who run small shops. Specifically, they're
considering offering 'day passes' at an affordable rate - but before they're
willing to move forward, they want to make sure that there is enough
interest in this service.
To measure interest, they have set up an emailbox, vote@..., for
the purpose of non-scientific polling research. To express your interest,
just write "Yes on Day Passes" in the subject line and send them an e-mail.
That's all you need to do to get your voice heard.
However, the more information you can provide, the more likely we will be to
achieve success with them. So, if you have the time, include a note that
describes the size of your business (in general terms), your needs for media
contact information (i.e., frequency, etc.) and any alternative ideas you
might have about how MediaMap could meet the Small Shop owner/operator's
They'll be monitoring the 'vote' emailbox closely for the next couple of
weeks, so please take a moment to write to them. If it is priced right,
there are many people who could benefit from this service.
