      *Advocacy Writer*

      Since 1977, Corporate Accountability International has successfully
      challenged corporations like Nestl�, General Electric, and Philip Morris to
      halt abusive practices that threaten human rights, public health, the
      environment and our democracy.
      The organization is expanding�and leading campaigns challenging some of the
      world�s most powerful industries, including food and agriculture, water, and
      Big Tobacco. Think Outside the Bottle exposes the truth behind bottled water
      marketing and defends the human right to water in the face of increasing
      corporate control. Value [the] Meal challenges the fast food industry to
      stop driving an epidemic of diet-related disease, and our campaign to
      Challenge Big Tobacco protects the first-ever corporate accountability
      treaty from tobacco industry interference.
      The Advocacy Writer is responsible for drafting, editing, and proofing
      content for media outreach, web, email, publications, and other campaign and
      organizational communications. The Writer will also contribute to the
      overall work of the communications unit by participating in direct media
      outreach, online organizing, and materials development, while working in an
      enterprising and active office atmosphere.
      We are looking for candidates with strong organizing and non-profit
      communications backgrounds who are interested in professional growth and
      opportunities for advancement within the organization.

      � Draft, edit, design, research and proofread content for a range of
      materials, including campaigns, membership outreach, and grant proposal and
      � Maintain systems, coordinate content development, and manage vendor
      relationships to ensure publication deadlines are met.
      � Assist in and organize staff writing, photo, and design trainings.
      � Support a range of communications work, participating regularly in direct
      media outreach, online organizing, and/or materials development.
      � Participate in campaign activities and fundraising drives such as
      shareholders� meetings, phone banks, and campaign events.

      � Demonstrated commitment to social justice and progressive social change.
      � At least two years experience as a full-time staff person in a progressive
      social change organization doing grassroots organizing, fundraising, and

      � Experience with design software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and
