      Laermer is right in saying the journalist-PR relationship has improved, for
      all the reasons he cites. However, he omits one important, additional
      factor: With many, if not most, media stretching their editorial staffs thin
      during the down economy in recent years, they have, of necessity, come to
      depend on and therefore be more receptive to help from PR types in covering
      their beats.
