Power assisted trikes are a very good option if one likes e-bikes but is balanced challenged and can't ride a 2-wheeler. The technology is available to build or buy a very capable tricycle. Input on standard trikes or recumbents is welcome. Physically challenged individuals who would like the extra "get home insurance" pedals offer and those who could use pedaling for rehab or exercise as opposed to just riding on a mobility scooter, let's hear your input. The owner of this group is disabled with MS, can't drive a car, but still gets out of the house every day. Bad weather excepted, heavy rain or snow is an acceptable excuse but I'm investigating studded snow tires for my trike. I've been involved with e-trikes for about 2 years. I'd like to start a series of threads regarding purpose built trikes. If you have a purpose built, speed, range, cargo hauling, etc. trike, or are researching options to modify your trike to meet the needs that you have, or are searching for a turnkey trike to meet these needs, please post your needs, the mods that you have made, and your (what if ) questions. A group of people will make these problems easier to solve.
